Strain back (muscle drawn backwards) is an injury that occurs in muscles or tendons. Due to the back strain, the tendons and muscles supporting the spine are twisted or pulled. Chronic back tension results from continuous trauma and weary back muscles. Acute back strains can occur after a single excessive emphasis on the back muscles, such as lifting heavy objects. Chronic back strains are more common than acute types.
To avoid back pressure, it is important to bend the knee every time you lift a heavy object - see the partial squat.

Signs and symptoms
Pain in the back is localized and does not radiate to the foot. It occurs suddenly and may be accompanied by muscle spasms. The pain is dull, painful, and decreased at rest. This can be aggravated by activity.

Cause
Tension backs are more common in women than men and are more common after pregnancy. Skinny people, those who stand for hours and those who do inactive work in bad posture tend to return to tension. Back strains are also more common in people with excessive curves in the back, weak muscles (as in muscular dystrophy) and tight thigh muscles. Sportspersons who play sports that involve lifting heavy, push and pulling burdens are also prone to back strain.
Diagnosis and treatment
The diagnosis of mild back stretch can be made with medical history and physical examination. In the case of more severe strains, X-rays should be taken to rule out disc fractures and disc herniation. Back sprains treated using analgesics such as ibuprofen, rest and use of ice packs. Patients can resume activities 24-48 hours after the pain and swelling decreases. It is not advisable to have long-term immobilization or total rest. If pain is not reduced within two weeks, additional treatment may be required. Prevention of back stretch is possible by adopting proper body mechanics when sitting, standing and lifting. Cessation of smoking, maintaining a healthy diet, exercise and normal weight is also good to prevent back strain.
