Helene E. Weinstein (born 6 September 1952) represents District 41 of the New York State Assembly, composed of Sheepshead Bay, Flatlands, East Flatbush, Midwood and Canarsie.

Biography
First elected in 1980, Weinstein currently chairs the Ways and Budget Committee of the Assembly and is a committee member who stands on Aging, Code, Rules. He previously chaired the Assembly Committee on Government Employees, Election Law and the Judiciary. And the Assembly Task Force on Women Issues for seven years.
Weinstein chairs the Standing Committee of the Judicial Council. She was the first woman in the history of New York State to be appointed for this position. The Justice Committee presides over almost all laws affecting the state judiciary system, Family Law and Domestic Relations, Custodianship and Plantation, as well as civil practice in court. Weinstein has sponsored major reforms in the country's jury system and is a key support for ensuring civil legal services for low-income New Yorkers. Weinstein led a successful effort to increase the 18B tariff and Guardian Law. Weinstein is also a member of the Court Facilities Capital Review Board.
He has been involved in the preparation and part of some key parts of the law, especially with regard to family law. She is the sponsor of the Family Protection and Domestic Violence Act, as well as the Child Support Standards Act.
Weinstein previously served as a former governor of Mario Cuomo who was appointed to the New York State Children's Aid Commission and the Governing Commission on Domestic Violence.
During his political career since 1998, two of the largest contributing groups to his campaign have become lawyers/court lobbyers and public sector unions.

Weinstein holds B.A. in Economics from American University as well as a degree from the New England School of Law.
