David E. Nahmias (born September 11, 1964) is an agency judge of the Georgia Supreme Court and former US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.

Nahmias grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended Briarcliff High School and was a state STAR student. He attended Duke University, where he graduated first in his class and summa cum laude, and Harvard Law School, where in 1991 he graduated magna cum laude and became editor of the Harvard Law Review (together with President Obama). He then signed up for Judge Laurence H. Silberman of the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and Judge Antonin Scalia of the US Supreme Court during the 1992 Government Period.

Federal Careers
After training with law firm Hogan & amp; Hartson in Washington, DC, Nahmias joined the US Attorney's Office in Atlanta in January 1995. Initially he handled numerous cases of armed robbery, firearms, arson and explosives, and worked extensively on the Centennial Olympic Park investigation and the subsequent bombing that led to the indictment Eric Robert Rudolph. Nahmias later worked on the Public Fraud and Corruption Section, where he succeeded in prosecuting the State Senate of Georgia for alleged corruption and several personal injury lawyers and bone experts on tax and fraud charges, and served as chief prosecutor in a major investigation into public corruption. in the City of Atlanta and the Fulton County government. Beginning in late October 2001, Nahmias was detailed into the US Department of Justice's Criminal Division in Washington to serve as Assistant Attorney General's Advisor. In that capacity, Nahmias coordinates the investigation and prosecution of Al Qaeda and other terrorist activities around the United States and in many foreign countries, aiding in counterterrorism policy making, and serving as a DOJ liaison to other Federal agencies on issues related to terrorism. On 1 August 2003, Nahmias was appointed as Deputy Attorney General's Assistant in the Criminal Division, responsible for the supervision of the Counterterrorism Section; The Fraud Section, which handles policy and litigation issues including cases of corporate fraud, securities, and health care and the Enron Task Force; Appeals section; and Capital Case Unit.
After being nominated by the President and confirmed by the United States Senate, on December 1, 2004, Nahmias returned to Atlanta to take office as US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. He serves as head of federal law enforcement officers in the district and manages offices with about 75 lawyers representing the United States in all criminal and civil litigation in federal courts in the district. In January 2005, Nahmias was appointed to serve on the Attorney General's United States Attorney's Advisory Committee (AGAC), which reviewed and recommended policies for national federal prosecutors. The Attorney General also appointed Nahmias as Chair of two of AGAC's most important subcommittees: Terrorism and National Security (September 2005-October 2007) and White Collar Crime (October 2007-2009).
Supreme Court
Nahmias was appointed to the Georgia Supreme Court by Governor Sonny Perdue on August 13, 2009, to fill the vacancy left by Leah Ward Sears' resignation. He took office on September 3, 2009, and won re-election in November 2010.
