Preston v. Ferrer

In 2005, Ferrer presented with a request for arbitration by lawyer Arnold Preston, who worked for Ferrer under a "private management" contract. Preston claims Ferrer owes him a fee under contract. Ferrer retaliated, claiming Preston had acted as a talent agency without a license, and therefore under California law the contract was null and voidable. The question of whether a judge or an arbitrator should decide the question of "talent agent" goes to the United States Supreme Court in the case of Preston v. Ferrer . The court ruled in favor of Preston in 2008.
